Abstract:
This study was conducted to examine different factors related to teaching and learning English language receptive skills influencing students' test performance in a metropolitan city of Mongolia. The respondents for this study were English language teachers (N=22), and 6th and 8th grade students (N=214). A survey was conducted by using a questionnaire for information gathering about teaching and learning strategies and an online test. The results showed that students' learning strategies and attitudes were related to their test performances. Traditional teaching material and parental education were shown to be the best indicators of students' achievement. Internet connection and devices were also significant predictors of online test performance.
